Barrow River Arts Festival

4th - 6th March 2011

A new festival, Barrow River Arts Festival will take place in Borris House, Borris, Co. Carlow only a 15 minute drive from Graiguenamanagh. Musicians, actors and poets, jugglers and artists from Ireland, France, Spain, U. K. and Switzerland will participate in a weekend of exciting artistic collaborations across several different art forms.

Graiguenamanagh/Tinnahinch Regatta & Rowing Festival

31st July - 1st August 2011

The Graiguenamanagh & Tinnahinch Annual Regatta & Rowing Festival is reputed to be Ireland’s oldest regatta and takes place over the August Bank Holiday Weekend. Events include: rowing, swimming, diving, cot racing (traditional fishing boat), novelty events (rope across river, diving for plates etc), children's activities and live music in the local pubs. The events are open to everybody.

Kilkenny Arts Festival

5th - 14th August 2011

Kilkenny Arts Festival is one of Ireland’s oldest and largest international arts festivals which takes place annually in August. Each summer there are 10 days of the very best in Irish and international visual art, classical music, theatre and dance, jazz, world & traditional Irish music, literature, film, architecture, indie music, craft and children’s events.

Heritage Week - Nationwide

20th - 28th August 2011


Week of indoor and outdoor events throughout the county celebrating the rich heritage the county has to offer and to promote awareness of our built, natural and cultural heritage. Activities range from fairs, night time bat walks, wildlife tours and lectures to music recitals, historical re-enactments, and outdoor activities.

Graiguenamanagh Book Weekend - Town of Books

16th - 18th September 2011 (to be confirmed)

Graiguenamanagh is also known as the "Town of Books". This annual festival is a must for all book lovers. Temporary bookshops appear all over the village in addition to the regular ones. Complimentary book trail maps are available throughout the village. Both collectors and bargain hunters are equally welcomed.

Graiguenamanagh Féile Freaney - Traditional Music Weekend

16th - 18th September 2011 (to be confirmed)

Féile Freaney is organised by the Graiguenamanagh branch of Comhaltas. The first festival was held in 2007. The music festival and workshops are mainly for the purpose of encouraging and improving the musical skills of young musicians in the surrounding areas. Graiguenamanagh has a wealth of musical talent and traditional music has always been celebrated and enjoyed by the local people and so the festival continues to grow from year to year.

Michaelmas Festival - Graiguenamanagh/Tinnahinch

23th - 25th September 2011 (to be confirmed)

This annual festival is a a fun day out for all the family. Events include: live music, demonstrations (mediaeval re-enactment, felt making, wood turning and carving, farrier etc), dog agility show, duck race, children's slide, and numerous stalls (crafts, clothes & food).

Duiske Concerts - Graiguenamanagh

The Duiske Concert Season is staged every November in the unique setting of Graiguenamanagh’s 12th century Duiske Abbey. This is a unique chance to hear Classical and Traditional music in a 12th century setting.
