Activities - Graiguenamanagh Area - Equestrian There are several places to go horse riding in the Graiguenamanagh area. Equine Trails Equine Trails is based In Borris, a 15 minute drive. Horses and riders are matched on their level of experience and there is a horse to suit every one. The trails are set through the woodland and parkland surrounding Borris House (ancestral home to the High Kings of Leinster) and are suitable for the novice rider right through to the very experienced. Each ride is accompanied by a fully qualified instructor. Address: Ballynattin, Borris, Co. Carlow Meadow Lane Riding School Meadow Lane Riding School have ponies and horses to suit everyone. They are open all year round. The riding school offers instructions for all ages from 6 years upwards in their large sand arena. They cater for complete beginners up to novice level dressage and basic jumping. The trekking packages range from 1 hour to 4 hours and will bring you through hills, valleys and fields. Mount Juliet Equestrian Centre The Mount Juliet Equestrian centre is one of the most impressive equestrian centres in the country. It is a a 25 minute drive. With two arenas including one International size arena, an American style barn, an exhilarating cross-country course, 18 miles of bridleways, a new set of show-jumps and a new stock of ponies and horses. The bridleways run through unspoilt parkland and woodland along the banks of the river Nore. The estate is also home to a Cross-country schooling facility with a total of twenty challenging fences. The Equestrian Centre provides horses and ponies to suit all levels and stables many Native breeds such as, the ‘Connemara’ and ‘Irish Draught’.
